Ambassador Nikola Nedeljković conveyed warm greetings and messages from the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, along with Serbia’s strong commitment to further deepening the overall relations and strategic partnership with the Hellenic Republic. He emphasized that the ties between the peoples of Serbia and Greece are fraternal and unbreakable, and expressed his personal dedication to strengthening them further during his tenure in Athens.
He expressed gratitude to Greece for its consistent stance on not recognizing the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called Kosovo, with the expectation that mutual support on key issues of national and state interest will continue in the future. He also expressed confidence that Greece, as a new non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, will advocate for the respect of international law and the fundamental principles of the UN Charter.

Speaking about the numerous bilateral meetings held by the President of the Republic of Serbia in New York during the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Ambassador Nedeljković highlighted the satisfaction with the meeting between President Aleksandar Vučić and the Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, as well as the meeting between Serbia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marko Đurić, and Greece’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Giorgos Gerapetritis. These meetings were jointly assessed as a significant contribution to further enhancing cooperation, particularly in the fields of economy, energy, and infrastructure.
President Katerina Sakellaropoulou welcomed the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia and wished him great success in his work, conveying her warm greetings to President Aleksandar Vučić. She emphasized that the relations between Serbia and Greece are marked by strong friendship, mutual trust, support, and deep historical, cultural, and spiritual ties between the two nations. She expressed hope that, based on these foundations, bilateral cooperation will continue to develop to the mutual benefit of both countries.
